Apple's 8-megapixel camera on
the iPhone 5s is already pretty
great, but there has been
speculation that Apple would
bump the megapixel count on
its next iPhone. Apple, of
course, hasn't really tried to
push the megapixel race at all,
instead focusing on premium
components that help create
better images, instead of adding
more megapixels. Now, a new
rumor out of China suggests
Apple will continue that
mentality with the iPhone 6 (or
iPhone Air, or whatever Apple
decides to call it).
Shares of Largan Precision, a
company that creates and sells
camera modules, recently
slipped in China following news
that Apple has no plans to add a
13-megapixel or 16-megapixel
camera to its next iPhone.
Instead, Apple will reportedly
continue to improve its 8-
megapixel camera with better
optical image stabilization (OIS).
